Kilganon Returns to His Low-Rim Roots
Dunking News — Jordan Kilganon, widely considered the greatest dunker of all time, is turning the spotlight back to one of the most important proving grounds in dunking: the 8-foot rim.
In a recent video posted to YouTube and TikTok, Kilganon asked a simple question to the dunk world: Who actually has the best chance of beating him in a low-rim session?
For Kilganon, the question is personal. He explained that before he became a professional dunker, he spent three to four hours a day dunking on low rims, developing the technique and creativity that helped him invent more than 300 dunks and remain undefeated in dunk contests for years. Low-rim dunking, he explained, is where creativity is built, where timing and body control are refined, and where dunkers learn how to invent.
The Three Dunkers Kilganon Says Could Challenge Him
There are thousands of low-rim dunkers around the world, and the low-rim community continues to grow every year. But when Jordan Kilganon was asked who could challenge him, he didn’t name ten people. He didn’t name five. He named three: Dom Dunks, Hoopin Nate, and Dillon Haugen. All three have proven their dedication to the sport, their craft, and have put in the time on the rim. In many ways, each of these dunkers likely reminds Kilganon of himself in different ways—creative, fearless, and willing to spend the hours necessary to invent something new.
Dom Dunks
The first name Kilganon mentioned was Dom Dunks, known by many as “The Filipino Dunker.” Dom has built a reputation as one of the most creative and exciting dunkers in the world, especially on low rims. His catalog includes advanced bounce dunks, scorpion variations, tabletop dunks, and combinations that require elite timing and body control. Dom’s style is aggressive, creative, and crowd-driven, making him one of the most dangerous dunkers in a low-rim session where innovation and execution matter more than anything else.
Hoopin Nate
The second name Kilganon mentioned was Hoopin Nate, who recently won the 2025 Dunk Camp Low Rim Dunk Contest, a story previously covered by Dunking News. Hoopin Nate is no stranger to Dunking News or the dunking world. With over a million recorded jumps and more than a billion views across social media platforms, hardly anyone remotely connected to sports hasn’t seen Hoopin Nate at some point—whether through his commercials and content featuring Michael Jordan, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Druski, Lethal Shooter, and many others, or through his viral mini-hoop and low-rim dunks that helped redefine creativity in small spaces. Kilganon acknowledged that Nate never stopped low-rimming, and his continued creativity and touch around the rim make him one of the most unique dunkers in the sport today.
Dillon Haugen
The third name Kilganon mentioned was Dillon Haugen, whom he described as a prodigy and one of the youngest professional dunkers in the game. Haugen has built a reputation for technical precision and advanced dunk combinations well beyond his years. His ability to combine clean execution with creativity makes him a serious threat in any low-rim session, especially in a setting where dunkers are pushing each other to invent in real time.
The Low Rim Dunk Avengers
Kilganon didn’t stop at naming three dunkers. He also floated a bigger idea: assembling what he called the “Low Rim Dunk Avengers,” a session that would bring together the most creative and best low-rim dunkers in the world in one gym at one time.
If that session happens, it could become one of the most important low-rim gatherings ever filmed. Low-rim dunking has evolved into one of the most creative spaces in the sport because it allows dunkers to experiment, fail, invent, and land dunks that might be impossible to try repeatedly at 10 feet. It rewards timing, coordination, creativity, and fearlessness as much as vertical ability.
By naming Dom Dunks, Hoopin Nate, and Dillon Haugen, Kilganon didn’t just start a conversation—he may have just started the conversation about who the best low-rim dunkers in the world really are.
Now the question is simple:
If the Low Rim Dunk Avengers session happens, who else deserves an invite?
